Open Access Information
The Freedom of Information Act 2016 (the Act) drives cultural change for the proactive release of government information, subject to the public interest. Part 4 of the Act introduces the Open Access Information Scheme (OAIS).

Government information is to be accessible, managed and protected in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2016, the Territory Records Act 2002, and the Information Privacy Act 2014.
Requesting government information
We can assist you to locate the information you are seeking. Please contact the EPSDD Information Governance Team on 13 22 81 or email epsdfoi@act.gov.au.
You may also request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2016 (the Act). The Information Governance Team can assist you to make a request under the Act. Government information you are seeking may be disclosed under an informal request or in response to an access application. Information released under the Act can be found in the disclosure log.
To submit an access application, your request should be as specific as possible and include current contact details to enable us to respond to your request. We may refuse applications for information already publicly available.
Our Information Governance Team coordinates the responses for access applications for matters in the EPSDD portfolio, including the Commissioner for Sustainability and the Environment.
The personal information you supply in requesting government information will be used for the purpose of processing your request and will be managed in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2014. Any queries concerning the management, access to or amendment of your personal information should be directed to the EPSDD Information Governance Team.
